Happy Easter – no classes Easter Monday

By | Blog | No Comments

Happy Easter :)

Hope you are all having a lovely long weekend. I took a wander around the Botanical Gardens today and it’s so nice to see the sunshine breaking out finally and so many flowers bursting into life! Just a reminder that I am not running any classes tomorrow on Easter Monday, but otherwise classes are on as usual (including this Thursday’s morning yoga classes at Eten Cafe Sheffield).

Also if you are looking for a healthy and relaxing weekend away, do check out the details for the summer yoga retreat at Fawcett Mill in Penrith – full details over on the events page of this website  – we are now over halfway booked up on this weekend and all of our retreats generally sell out a month or so in advance, but there are places still available right now. Personally July is my favourite time of the year to visit Fawcett Mill as the garden is in full bloom and if it’s great weather like last year we might be lucky enough to practice yoga outside or have a paddle in the Mill’s own waterfall.

Hope to see you at a class soon,

Thursday 29th January Eten Yoga Cancelled This Week

By | Blog | No Comments

I hate having to cancel classes. But trudging around in the snow outside I just can’t tell if I can get my car safely down the hill and later back up the hill especially if the snow is continuing all day. I also don’t want anybody else to have a crash or an accident needlessly, so today we will have to namastay in bed.

Fingers crossed this wintry snow will soon pass and we can get back to normal next week!

See you next week,

Leonie

new year, new class times

By | Blog | No Comments

Dear fellow yogis, yoginis and pilates folk,

I don’t know about you but 2014 has been pretty significant for me; moving house, relocating and getting engaged!

So in part due to the above and partly also due to some major building work going on at Cavendish School Didsbury, from January 5th there will be some significant changes to the Manchester class times. The Fallowfield Pilates class will run on Mondays at 12-1pm, The Cavendish Didsbury Pilates class will be scheduled an hour earlier at 6-7pm, followed by Yoga at the same venue from 7.30-8.45pm. This will replace the Tuesday evening class – but there will still be Yoga if you can only make Tuesdays, with Tara at the same time.

Last classes in Manchester before I stop for Christmas break are on Monday 15th December. Last classes for Sheffield will be on Thursday 18th December.

I’m looking forward to teaching you all in 2015, and particularly excited about teaching at Cranage Hall with Julia on our Yoga & Spa Detox weekend in January. There are also the wonderful and ever-popular Lakes retreats that Tara and I organise three times a year – these are booking up so do please get in touch if you are interested in joining us. There will be other Yoga and Pilates events going on next year so do stay in touch via my website, facebook or twitter.

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and thanks so much for all your support, kindness and inspiration this year!

Namaste

New morning Yoga Class coming up in Sheffield!

By | Blog | No Comments

My early morning yoga class at the lovely Eten Cafe in Sheffield City Centre is already full so I’m looking to start a new class at the cafe on Thursdays 9-10am. It will cost £6 per class with a special discount of £5 for students. The upstairs room in the cafe is a very pleasant space for practicing yoga and if you are not in a rush, why not stay for a coffee or a smoothie afterwards. I have mats you can borrow and we can fit a maximum of 14 people in the room so we will keep it small and friendly. As soon as I have a handful of folk interested we can start! And as Autumn is upon us, it’s a great time to start a healthy new routine.

So if you would like to come along please get in touch and reserve your space: [email protected] or find me on facebook/ twitter @LeoniesYoga.

Holidays and class dates

Just a note to say I’m off on hols soon (fingers crossed for sunny weather as I’m camping!!) This means that my Monday morning Pilates class in Fallowfield will be cancelled on June 30th.

My Monday and Tuesday evening classes for the next two weeks at Cavendish Road Primary School will be running, led by a cover instructor.

My Thursday evening yoga class in Dore won’t be on this week or next – we will return from Thursday 3rd July.

That happens to be the same day I’ll also be rising and shining with my brand new early morning yoga class which starts upstairs in the lovely Eten cafe next to Sheffield Cathedral 7.30-8.30am. Contact me if you would like to come along to this

My next two workshop dates and details are now up in the Events section of the website. Please let me know if you would like to reserve a place.

Any queries you can reach me by emailing [email protected]

Thanks,

Leonie

Good Morning Yoga coming soon to Sheffield City Centre

By | Blog | No Comments

From 3rd July, you can now fit in a dose of yoga to set you up for a positive day ahead every Thursday morning, 7.30-8.30am. You will warm up gently with some lying stretches before brightening up with a few sun salutes and ending with a short spell of mindfulness or relaxation, so you are calm and ready to make the most out of your day.

Classes will take place upstairs in Eten Cafe, which is right next to the Cathedral so very easy to find. Come along, bring your mat if you have one or borrow one from me if not. Spaces are limited (as it’s a new class we’re still ascertaining how many people we can fit in comfortably into the room!) so please email me beforehand if you are intending on coming along. Having said that, there are plenty of spaces available at the moment so feel free to tell your friends and colleagues. My email is [email protected] or you can tweet me at Leoniesyoga

New Lakes Weekend dates!

By | Blog | No Comments

559362_376139262407833_766455329_n

We have already sold out our Lakes weekend retreats for July and October this year, so we’ve decided to put on an extra weekend! The dates are 7-9 November, which means you can break up the dark days of winter with a cosy rural yoga break. It’s so lovely to be able to relax straight after your practice by a roaring fire and enjoy being served tasty, warming homemade vegetarian meals. We will be staying in beautiful Fawcett Mill again in Penrith. Once you’ve been you’ll understand why so many people want to return again. If you would like to reserve your place please get in touch with Tara Barton on 07821 607 505. There are a couple of single rooms as well available at a supplement, which tend to get snapped up quickly. I’ll also be posting up more details about this weekend in my events section.

Here are a few dates for your diary – Julia Osbeck and I will be co-hosting another yoga workshop on Sunday 8th June at Dean Row Village Hall in Wilmslow. The theme this time is ‘Hip Love’! Then there are two workshops coming up in August at Fallowfield Union Chapel, both on Saturday mornings. The first one will be hosted by Tara and myself, on the topic of the psoas muscle, the deepest muscle in the human body. The second date is 23rd August and this workshop will include both pilates and yoga, more details to follow very soon!
