Summer 2019 Class Timetable amendments

By | Blog | No Comments

There will be a couple of tweaks to the Sheffield pilates and yoga timetable this July and August (2019):

Pilates at High Storrs School S11 will be running on Mondays at 6.45pm except for Monday July 1st and on Wednesdays 6.45pm up until the summer holidays except for Wednesday July 10th. The last Wednesday class before the summer holidays is 17th July and the Wednesday evening class will then take a break until Autumn term which begins September 4th. The Monday evening pilates class will continue throughout the summer holidays so plenty of opportunities for keeping up your exercise routine.

Yoga at Union St will also continue throughout summer. My friend Rachael Goodall will be covering my yoga classes in the first two weeks of July. Please note, Rachael can take cash payments and class passes but won’t be able to take card payments. Rachael is trained in both hatha yoga and yin yoga and has a lovely gentle style.

Hope to see you soon!

Thanks

Class times this week and next, plus a new evening class in May!

By | Blog | No Comments

Hi there,

There will be a few slight changes to the timetable this week and next.

This week, I am teaching yoga at Union St tonight (Tuesday 26th March) but unfortunately I have to attend a funeral on Thursday 28th so there won’t be a class then.

Next week, there will be no Monday evening pilates class at High Storrs school (1st April) to coincide with the new Easter school holiday times. However, the school has agreed we can still meet for pilates on Monday April 8th!

If you have been attending High Storrs pilates class you will have undoubtedly noticed that the class numbers have been growing! So, I am going to start a second pilates class from May on a Wednesday at the same time, 6.45-7.45pm. This class will run term time only and will take place in the activity studio (same room as Monday class). Please do let any interested friends or family members know about this class! And if you fancy trying two classes a week, remember you can buy a ten class pass from me to make it that bit more value for money.

Thanks and hope to see you at a class very soon,

Leonie

Half Term Week at High Storrs School

By | Blog | No Comments

Hi there,

Half term is upon us again and so there will be no pilates class running at High Storrs School this Monday 18th February 2019 – classes are back to normal from Monday 25th. Look forward to seeing you then!

The yoga classes at Union St will continue as usual and won’t be taking a break. If you have a 10 class pass for High Storrs Pilates you can use this at the Union St classes too.

Have a great week,

Leonie

Summer holiday July

By | Blog | No Comments

Hi, hope you are enjoying (or enduring) the heatwave this week! It certainly makes a change to have such a long spell of midsummer sunshine doesn’t it.

My holiday is fast approaching; July 4th-13th. Please note that there will be no High Storrs Pilates class on Monday July 9th, though this class will be running every other Monday in July as usual and continuing over the school summer break.

Union St yoga will be on this week (26/28 June) and next Tuesday 3rd July, then we will take a short break, resuming a normal timetable from Tuesday 17th July.

During my absence, my other classes at Jeni’s and Katie’s pilates studios will be covered and so will be on as usual as well as my classes at Virgin Active.

Hope to see you soon at a class!

Take care

Leonie

Whitsun Hols class break

Hi there,

Hope you are enjoying the fabulous sunshine recently! The lovely weather makes stretching muscles that bit easier and means we can take things slowly and really enjoy the calming effect of the heat in class. I have also enjoyed teaching yoga taster sessions to the Department of Education as part of their Mental Health Awareness week and look forward to teaching a yoga session to the folks at Sheffield Theatres this afternoon.

With the new data protection law coming into place this month I have decided that from now on I will not store your email addresses and phone numbers unless you are an active private client. I will update my blog whenever there is a change to the class timetable as well as keeping you informed via facebook and twitter. This avoids unnecessary emails to clog up your inbox (my own private pet hate in this world of endless distractions!). So if you can’t attend a class for a few weeks it is worth checking my blog first or emailing me to check a class is on at [email protected]

With that in mind, I also wanted to remind you that next week we will be taking a break with classes as it’s the Whitsun Holidays, Spring Bank Holiday and I have some training days to attend.

* There will be no classes at Union St on Tuesday 29 May and Thursday 31 May 2018.

* There will be no Pilates class at High Storrs School on Bank Holiday Monday 28 May.

* Ihe Katie Bell Pilates Studio will be closed along with Jeni Ferguson Pilates Studio.

* My Virgin Active yoga class on Thursday will be covered and I will be there to teach my usual Sunday morning pilates class.

All classes will be running as usual from Sunday 3 June.

Thanks for all your support so far in the year! Classes continue this week if you would like to catch a yoga or pilates class.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about bringing awareness to our present experience without judgment. It includes paying attention to our mind, emotions and body sensations with gentleness and kindness. Meditation helps to rewire our brains to be less reactive and busy. This enables us to have more choice in how we relate to life.

In this day we will explore more of what mindfulness is and experience a range of practices which will leave with a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Jane is an accredited Mindfulness teacher with Breathworks and is listed on the UK Network of Mindfulness teachers.
